Beaujolais Nouveau: The Story of New Wine, November 23, 6:30-9:00

$125.00

A fun Wine and Holiday food pairing class.

It is no coincidence that we celebrate the harvest and new wine the week before Thanksgiving. New Wine, made from the current harvest, pairs perfectly with a wide variety of Thanksgiving and holiday favorites. This class will introduce the history of New Wine from ancient times to the re-invented Beaujolais Nouveau celebrations held every third week of November. We will explore six different expressions of wine produced in this often-overlooked wine region. Young Beaujolais wines are often very dry to tart with expressive savory flavors layered between bubblegum and soft banana. Rich and bold Beaujolais Crus bring something special to every glass. The center of the conversation will be the food. Each wine will be discussed as it relates to and pairs with different variations of holiday classics. We will enjoy generous samples of holiday classics while our chef explains how to recreate these savory and delicious options in your own kitchen. Real, practical, and delicious.

Special Dinner, Menu TBD

Instructors: Susan and Paul Shaltry, Jeff Lohr, House Wine
