Return from Amsterdam: De Kas Date Night, June 29, 6:00-9:00

Nestled in a park on the east side of Amsterdam is a fabulous restaurant named De Kas, which translates to “greenhouse”. Not only is the restaurant housed in this greenhouse that was originally erected in 1927, but many of the ingredients used in their inventive dishes are grown on the premises. The vegetables are varied and top notch, so we will try our best to get premium ingredients to replicate some of the dishes featured in their cookbook. Each couple will be in charge of preparing one of the courses on the menu, which may not totally be decided until we see what is being harvested and available. It will be a vegetable-forward menu, multiple small plates, some fish/crustacean to reflect Amsterdam’s proximity to the sea and, of course, a delicious dessert. Come with an open mind, an adventurous palate and an artistic eye to use as you plate your masterpiece.
